From there, a walk through the ancient Roman Forum will prolong your journey through time.

Domus Aurea, Palatine Hill, and the Pantheon are also must-sees to accompany your Colosseum visit. While they’re all very popular tourist attractions, that doesn’t diminish their historic awe in the slightest. 

And for the final must-see destination? That’s yours to decide! Put the tour guide to one side and take a walk around a neighbourhood like Trastevere, which has all the benefits of a modern Italian adventure without the swarm of tourists to contend with. 

The area also has many of Rome’s most well-kept reminders of centuries past, providing visitors with a reminder of the past while enjoying present-day comforts and amenities. Take in the small streets, cafes, and restaurants while savouring an artisanal gelato.

Of course, another way to enjoy Rome’s bustling neighborhoods is to go fountain-hopping. The Fontana di Trevi and Fontana del Tritone are just two of the grandiose waterworks that adorn Rome’s squares.
